These photographed, recieved in London to-night (Monday) are the first original pictures to reach England of the bombing of the American gunboat "Panay" which was sunk by Japanese planes near Hohsien, 29 miles from Nanking. As survivors made their way from the sinking ship they were machine-gunned by the Japanese and when they eventually reached the shore were forced to hide in bamboo thickets.
