Typical Chinese welcome for first convoy in three years. All along the Stilwell Road through China, the truck caravan was greeted by whole towns and villages which had hastily erected arches in honor of the first convoy. The 113-vehicle convoy reached Kunming on February 4, 1945, ending the land blockade of China. NI 9228
