China truck convoy starts out over Stilwell Road. Trucks of the first China convoy in almost three years pass the ruins, of the Myitkyina railroad station, once the scene of long bitter fighting. The convoy reached Wanting, China, January 28, 1945, marking the end of the land blockade of China. The new route, however, will not solve China's supply problem although it will add to the increasing quantities of war materials being flown over the 'Hump' by Allied planes. NI 9271
