Ambon, Moluccas, Netherlands Indies. Evidence of Japanese brutality is shown in the remains of this former victim which was exhumed by Japanese soldiers, whilst Allied officials stood by to investigate any detail of clothing, personal belongings or equipment which was unearthed in an effort to identify the body. Note the cleft akull testifying the statment that many died not whith the first blow but were brutally murdered.
