Maastricht Welcomes Queen Wilhelmina. Residents of Maastricht, Holland, jam the streets in front of the Town Hall to welcome Queen Wilhelmina March 21, 1945, on her return to The Netherlands after four years of self-imposed exile starting when the Germans overran her country in 1940. Queen Wilhelmina was bon in The Hage in 1880 and has been sovereign of The Netherlands since 1890. Markt.
