28 mei 1945
' Rebuilding St. Malo. Civilians of the French town of St. Malo on the Brest peninsular in France are trying to rebuild the historic old city which is badly damaged. They are hoping to rebuild it exactly as it was before the war, and mark each stone as they dig it out so that they will know where it belongs. Photo shows: French civilians in St. Malo sawing wood; part of the tedious job which they have in trying to rebuild the city as it was before the war. The old stones will be used to form the fabric of the new buildings. In the background another is seen trimming the stones. '
