'Goodbye Piccadilly, so long Leicester Square... is what Sergeant K.M. Hermiston of Englehart, Ontario, seems to be saying as she is carried through the crowds of Piccadilly on 10th August when the news came to Great Britain that Japan has surrendered. Lieutenant Arthur Cole gives the Sergeant a helping hand to get a view, and with the pair is L/Cpl. Fern Hodgson, CWAC, of Port Hope, Ontario. Lieutenant Cole is from Toronto.'
