German military leaders to be tried as war criminals. Grand Admiral Erich Raeder (left), former commander in chief of the German Navy, and Field Marshal General Wilhelm Keitel (right), chief of the German High Command and a member of the secret Nazi Cabinet council, will be among 24 German leaders who will be tried as major war criminals. The trials will be held in Nürnberg, former Nazi stronghold in Bavaria. The 24 Germans were indicted by the international committee of chief prosecuters. The prosecuters will try them in October, 1945.
