The rise and fall of the Nazi State. Part I: The growth of the Nazi Party. Books are burned under fanatic Nazi regime. Thousands of books smoulder in a huge bonfire as Germans give the Nazi salute during the wave of bookburnings that spread throughout Germany. The works of any author of so-called non-Aryan blood or authors whose principles were at variance with Nazi doctrines were destroyed by fire and only these works that followed Nazi racial and political theories were approved reading for the people. After Hitler's asumption of supreme power, the German state was completely reorganized. The educational system was made subservient to the party, and all honest, unbiased teaching was prohibited. Libraries, art museums and all forms of cultural life were combed for un-German" elements." Boekverbranding voor de Staatsopera te Berlijn.
