Nazi officer murders three U.S. prisoners. Captain C.B. Harroll of Los Angeles, California, Judge Advocate of the 13th Armered Division, First U.S. Army, is pictured April 18, 1945, viewing the bodies of four American soldiers, three of when were murdered by a German officer. The men were crewman of a tank knocked out of action near Hilden, Germany. When they surrendered, the Nazi officer marched them to a ditch and shot them through the head in cold blood. A liberated Russian slave laborer was an eye-witness to the slaying. Hilden is five miles southeast of Dusseldorf.
