Third army troops prepare rocket barrage on western front. Two crew members of a Third U.S. Army tank load rockets into launchers mounted atop their vehicle before it goes into action against German troops on the Western Front. On March 19, 1945, Third Army troops who crosses the Moselle River in assault boats had captured Coblenz and struck eastward to within 14 miles of Mainz and southward to within 16 miles of a junction in the Saar with U.S. Seventh Army forces fighting northward from captured Saarbrucken.
