Two days later, the Third took almost 19,000 prisoners, bringing the total captured by the Third Army since August 1, 1944, to approximately 300,000. At the same time, Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force announced that from June 6, 1944, to March 26, 1945, Allied armies on the Western Front had taken 1,158,090 Germans prisoner.
