Devastated Nazi marshalling yards. A severed rail track, sent climbing into the air by Allied bombs, is surrounded by demolished, half-buried rail cars and shattered installations in the marshalling yards of Limburg, Reich city 20 miles east of the Rhine which was cleared March 27, 1945, by the Ninth Armored Division, First U.S. Army. American tanks rolled into the city March 26 to be followed the next day by infantry units.
