Former slave laborers are repatriated. Former French slave laborers are shown loading their belongings on a truck in Braunschweig, Germany, May 12, 1945, as the first step in the Journey back to their homeland. Slave laborers of the Germans are being repatriated at the rate of about 1,2000 daily bij Allied officials an liaison workers from Braunschweig. They were liberated from the Nazis along with thousands of others from France, Belgium, Poland, Russia and Holland when troops of the 83rd Division, Ninth U.S. Army, captured Braunschweig.
