1945
Two Russian liberated by U.S. drive. A smiling Russian mother and her child walk past an American hal-track parked in the yard of an Allied displaced persons camp near Trier, Germany. The camp is located in the area where many Allied nationals were liberated from Nazi laber battalions by American troops. From the camp, they will be repatriated to their homelands. In the two weeks beginning March 5, 1945, Allied officials dealing with displaced persons handled approximately 23,000 liberated prisoners of the Nazis.
