German civilians hear new laws. The only civilian policeman in Dernbach, Germany, acts as the town cryer March 27, 1945, to read the new rules of behavior laid down by Military Government authorities of the First U.S. Army. Eight miles east of the Rhine and east of the Cologne-Frankfurt autobahn, Dernbach was cleared as the Allies armies gained control of the highway.
