Belgian "White Army" member wears Allied insignias. A member of Belgium's Army of the Interior (White Army) wears insignia given him by Allied soldiers after the latter launched the liberation of his homeland on Sept, 12, 1944. British aircraft dropped the uniforms worn by the White Army. Operating since the day the Germans invaded their country, the White Army has constantly harassed their oppressors and played a major role in the U.S. First Army's nine-day, recordbreaking march through Belgium to the German frontier.
