A bayonet which can be used for close infighting dangles from his cartridge belt and combat boots have replaced his service shoes and leggings. He carries the same type helmet which he wore in the ETO and is issued a similar water canteen. The uniform and equipment are designed for freedom of movement during tropical fighting.
