American red cross helps civillians Nantes, France. Clothing, collected by Red chapters in the United States, was distributed in the French city, an inland port on the Loire River, early in 1945. A goal of 180,000,000 dollars has been set in the 1945 war fund to be collected by the Amercan Red Cross for use in the United States and overseas.
