Ninth U.S. Air Force men entertain invalid French children. French children suffering from bone disease receive the visit of members of the Ninth U.S. Army's 387th Bombardment Group in the courtyard of the "Hospital Callot", at Berck-Plage, in the Pas-de-Calais, department of France, August 4, 1945. Accompanied by the Mayor of Berck, the American airmen visited five hospitals in the town and presented 1,500 young patients with candy and chewing gum, donated from their own rations, and vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. A rest camp is maintained for the men of the 387th Bombardment Group near Berck-Plage.
