Cherbourg observes Bastille Day. Civilians line the streets of Cherbourg to watch as French sailors, marines and the police and firemen of the great port city march with British and American troops on Bastille Day July 14, 1944. In all of liberated France, the national holiday was observed for the first time in four years.
