U.S. troops carry the Stars and Stripes alongside the Tricolor in the annual procession in honor of the Virgin Mary in the French town of Mayenne, France, liberated by U.S. troops August 6, 1944. This ceremony dates back to the days of King Louis 13th in 1638.
