Raise Philippine flag in U.S. to honor general MacArthur's return. Honoring U.S. General Douglas MacArthur's return to the Philippines at the head of a liberating army, five Filipino civic leaders raise the Philippine national colors over the city hall in Los Angeles, Amercican west coast community. The celebrants, three of whom wear American Legion caps signifying the fought with the U.S. forces in the last war, are (left to right): Philip Alogado, Francisci Lopez, Leo Santiago, Roque de la Ysia and G.N. Riosaco. "We have ever been confident that General MacArthur would return to our islands", said Mr. Lopez, who is editor of the Associated Filipino Press of Los Angeles. Önce again we thank America for what she has done for the Philippines in the past and what she is doing now. Soon our native land will be free again."
