New helicopters on Assembly line in U.S. Parts of new U.S. helicopters move along the assembly line at an aircraft plant in the Eastern U.S. where the roatry-winged craft are now in quantity production. Read and front fuselage sections are joined in the line at left. After engines are installed, the fuselages move down the final assembly line at right and out rhgouth the paint shop. Ease of control is one of the main features of the small, compact helicopter which can take off and descent vertically, fly sideways and backwards, and hover motionless ten inches above the earth of the sea. Helicopters are being used on war missions and for reconnaissance work.
