At a port somewhere in England, supply ships loaded with war materials from United States and British factories assemble into convoys for the long journey through the Arctic to Murmansk, Russia. Careful planning and organization of the convoys by American and British naval officers, and the courage and skill of the ships' officers and men, are seeing the convoy through despite Axis bombers and U-boats. To withstand icy winds that blow down on ships travelling the Arctic convoy route, U.S. Navy gun crews stand watch and man their guns in hooded fur coats.
