Field hospital surgery and medical care are saving the lives of more than 99 out of every 100 men wounded in France. Less than one per cent of the wounded reaching medical installations die subsequently. In the last war, the figure was 11 per cent. Army medical services have reached such a peak of efficiency that men wounded in the morning are back in a general hospital in Britain by about 9 o'clock that night.
