Hitler's War Council records found.
Hitler's War Council records found. The partially burned papers in this American soldier's hand are official records of the German War Council meetings between Hitler and his confederates from 1942 and 1945. The records were discovered by the 101st Airborne Division, Seventh U.S. Army, in Berchtesgaden. SS troops made vain attempts to burn them before the Americans arrived but most of the papers were saved. They give a complete record of the German War Council and officially-sanctioned crimec. The soldier shown here is Sergeant George Allen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, official interpreter for the 101st Airborne Division.
