American soldiers and WACS take in the scenery along the banks of the Rhine River while enjoying a day on Hitler's former yacht. The boat was taken over by the U.S. Army in March 1945 and has been used for Rhine River trips since June. Capable of making 30 knots it is operated by a seven man German crew and powered by 2 400 HP Diesel motors. Weight; 180 tons, length 170 ft.; width 26 ft. Built at a cost of ½ million marks, it was presented to "der Fuerer" by the grateful citizens of Cologne on the day when Hitlers soldiers hobnailed into Austria, 18 March 1938.
