Bremen submarine shipyard bombed. This scaffolding around a damaged submarine was partly pulled away by the Germans, who were preparing to repair a bomb-damaged section of the craft after the bombing of the Seshimag submarine shipyards at Bremen by Allied planes March 14, 1945. The submarine was almost completed for launching an service when the bomb struck it. The Germans did not have time to finish the reoairs before advancing Allied troops took Bremen April 28, 1945. The Deshimag yards were the second largest in Germany and produced one submarine ervery two and a hald weeks. To minimize the effects of Allied bombs, the ships were built on eight sections in various parts of Germany and each section was brought to the yard, where 18,000 workers assembled them.
