Allied bombers blast Hamburg. The Nazi liner "Robert Ley"is listing at its Hamburg wharf after being gutted by fire. Following an attack by Eight U.S. Air Force bombers December 31, 1944, a liner was reported damaged anf two U-boats sunk in the Blohm and Voss shipyards. The 'Robert Ley"was named for the Nazi Labor Front leader, now a prisoner of the Allies. The 28,000-ton ship was built in 1938 for the "Strenght Through Joy" cruises.
