Graf Spee meets her doom - merchant ship takes off crew. The German pocket battleship "Admiral Graf Spee"as she left Montevideo to be scuttled by her commander, Captain Langsdorff, who blew up his ship. She was driven to shelter by three British cruisers, and was sent to the bottom rather than meet the Allied Fleet which awaited her outside the port. In background is seen the merchant ship "Tacoma", which took off the crew of the "Graf Spee", and small boats can be seen leaving the battleship to take men to the "Tacoma". The mole in background is lined with spectators.
