The end of the Polish Army.
The end of the Polish Army. The French premier Edouard Daladier pretended in his "Yellow Book" that the Polish army was finally destroyed by the entrance of the Soviet forces, September 16, 1939. German official sources declared Daladiers statement to be a falsification of the true historic facts. They published this map which indicates the places where 30 Polish Army Divisions and 9 Cavalry Brigades (Pomorska, Wielkopolska, Mazoweska, Nowogrodska, Podlaska, Krespwa, Wolynska, Krakowa and 1 motor Brig.) faced their enemy for the first time. Moreover this map shows the further movements of the Polish army up to its definite destruction and capitulation. For the proper understanding of this map please note the following: Encircled number = the designation of the resp. Pol. Div. Encircled letter = the designation of the resp. Pol. Cav. Br. (these brigades are not numbered but have proper names) Cross = heavier battles Asterisk = big Polish losses Dots = captured or dispersed Pol. Cav. Brig. Dashes = remnants of the destroyed Pol. Army This map absolutely proves - German sources claim - that the mass of the Polish army was defeated west of the Vistula River. This map is dated Sept. 15, 1939, i.e. previous to the Soviet entrance.
