Allied forces join in Italy. Wide grins and firm handclasps are exchanged by an American and a British soldier at the historic juncture of Allied forces in Italy. Columns of the Allied Fifth Army under Lieutenant General Mark W. Clark converged with patrols of the forces which thrust foreward from the Nettuno-Anzio beachhead before the Allied Fifth Army swept on through Rome toward Florence.
