Released by the Allied Military Government, political prisoners of the fascist regime in Italy carry their belongings from their prison on the island of Favignana, off the western coast of Sicily, to a boat that will take them to the Sicilian mainland. The AMG has released hundreds of anti-fascist internees in liberated territory since the surrender of Italy to the Allies.
