Army nurse lands in Italy. Her coveralls rolled above her knees and her shoes hanging around her neck, a U.S. Army nurse wades ashore at Naples, Italy, as her companions come down the gangway of a landing craft. American soldiers from a human chain to pass equipment ashore. Landing crafts were used to bring military personnel and supplies into Naples while docking facilities were unusable because of German demolitions. The Allies restored the docks to use four days after liberating the city.
