Bazooka, U.S. rocket guns blasts tanks. Two U.S. soldiers operate a "bazooka", new U.S. rocket gun which has blasted tanks and concrete pillboxes in Italy. The rocket, nearly two feet long, is heavier than a hand grenade, and its propelling charge is set off by an electric battery in the gun. The shell explodes when it strikes a target and blasts its way through steel and concrete. The gun is a metal tube, open at both ends, somewhat more than 50 inches in length and less than three inches in diameter. The weapon has no more recoil than an 22-caliber rifle.
