Italian officer talks with Germans he took prisoner on Island of Corfu. Major Luigi Ottino of the Italian Army (right) talks at Taranto, Italy with some of the 433 German soldiers taken prisoner by an Italian force which Major Ottino led in an attack against German occupation forces on the island of Corfu. Major Ottino's men brought the germans across the Adriatic to Raranto in finish boats. Corfu, a Greek island lying 75 miles east of southern Italy, was occupied by the Italians in 1941, and the germans moved after Italy's surrender to the Allies.
