Allied Military Government Administrations in Rome. U.S. Colonel Charles Poletti (left), regional commissioner of the Allied Military Government, in Rome, confers at his desk with U.S. Captain Maurice F. Neufield (center) and U.S. Major William A.S. Dollard, two members of his staff. Colonel Poletti is cooperating with Italian authotities in removing the task of restoring liberated Italy to normal life and helping reconstruct devasted areas. On July 7 Colonel Poletti thanked the people of Rome for their cooperation with the Allies, declaring "your help will simplify everything and will facilitate and speed your work and our work of reconstruction.
