Mayor of Rome sworn in.

Mayor of Rome sworn in. Prince Filippo Andres Pamphili (Prince Doria) addresses the assembly at a ceremony in the Campodilio Building in Rome after he had been sworn in as Mayor ot the city by Brigadier General Edgar Erskine Hume, Military Governor of Rome. Prince Doria, always hostile to Fascism, was banished and confined in 1936 by Mussolini for his attitude and his open hostility to the anti-British policy being propagated at that time. At the table left to right are: General Benciverga, retiring Military and Civil Governor of Rome; General Hume, Prince Doria and on the extreme right Colonel Norman E. Fiske, wh later took over as military chief when Hume returned to his post as Civil Affairs of the Fifth Army. Colonel Fiske was formerly Military Attache of the American Embassy at Rome.
