Louis Barthou, the French Foreign Minister, were shot while driving through Marseilles yesterday. Both died of their wounds shortly afterwards. Shots were fired by a number of people and the actual assassin jumped on to the running board of the royal car and fired point-blank at the King and Minister. The assassin was lynched on the spot. King Alexander was on a diplomatic mission to France and M. Barthou was at Marseilles to welcome him on behalf of the French Government. Aleksander I. Karadžordžević.
