General Bradley talks with U.S. officials interested in veterans' affairs. General Omar N. Bradley (left), commander of the U.S. Twelfth Army group who was recently appointed to be Administrator of Veterans Affairs by U.S. President Harry S. Truman, discusses veterans' problems with officials in Washington, U.S. capital, in June, 1945. Left to right are: General Bradley; Representative John E. Rankin of the southern U.S. state of Mississippi, chairman of the House Committee on World War Veterans' Legislation, and Brigadier General Frank T. Hines, retiring Veterans' Administrator. General Bradley, who will retain his present army rank, will take over the new post as soon as he completes his duties in western Europe - probably within the next month or two.
