Gandhi sees the joke at Indian Congress. Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian nationalist leader, smiles behind his hand at a joke which provided great enjoyment for Subas Chandra Bose (right foreground), the President, at the 51st Indian National Congress at Haripura. Back again in the forefront of Indian politics, Gandhi opposed the suggestion that the Congress Governemnts in India should resign and thus precipitate a crisis.
