Gerbrandy spreekt op 10 mei 1942 ter gelegenheid van de herdenking van de Duitse inval in Nederland, in de door de Blitz verwoeste Nederlandse kerk te Austin Friars. Het originele Britse bijschrift luidt: 'On Sunday 10th May 1942 the Dutch Community in London gathered in the ruins of the ancient Dutch Church in Austin Friars to commemorate the day on which two years ago the Germans began their brutal invasion of the Netherlands and to renew their pledge to continue the fight until Holland is free again. The Minister President of the Dutch Government, Professor P.S. Gerbrandy addressed these present at the service which was also attended by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands who represented Her Majesty Queen Wilhelmina.
