Former state prosecutor accused. Kiel, Germany: Former German state prosecutor Dr. Ernst Lautz (right) talks with his lawyer, Dr. Gille, during his hearing here April 11th, on charges of malfeasance in office. Lautz was chief prosecutor for the one-time infamous Nazi 'people's court' in which almost all accused automatically were condemned to death. As a retired state official, he is presently receiving a pension of 250 dollars per month. The charges against the 70-year old Lautz were made on the basis of the death-verdicts, which he demanded during his role with the 'people's court'.
