Sir William Seeds appointed new British Ambassador to Moscow. The King has approved the appointment of Sir Seeds, formerly Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary at Rio de Janeiro, to be Ambassador at Moscow in succession to Viscount Chilston, who is retiring at the end of the year. Seeds, 56, entered the diplomatic service in 1904, and served at Washington, Peking, Athens, Lisbon, Berlin and Munich before going to Rio. Seeds at his Hampshire home, Fairfield, at Lymington after the announcement of his new appointment.
