King George and President Truman meet. King George of England and President Harry S. Truman of the United States are shown talking aboard the U.S.S. Augusta during their historic meeting August 2, 1945, in Plymouth Harbor, England. The King came aboard the American cruiser to bid farewell to the President and his party after their meeting aboard the H.M.S. Renown. President Truman was on his way home from the Potsdam Conference.
