AD B 2 Bevrijding When the 1st Allied Airborne Army had dropped in Holland photographers of the Army Film and Photographic Unit were with them. This is one of the first photographs received back from them. One of them writes in a letter dated September 20th - 'This is the fourth day of fighting and camera work is almost out of the question. All day we have been under shell, mortar and machine gun fire. We are completely surrounded and our perimter is decoming smaller every hour. now it is a matter of fighting for our lives. If our land forces do not make contact with us soon then we have had it!' Photo shows: British paratroopers in action with a six-pounder anti-tank gun against a German self-propeller gun which was about 80 yards away when this photograph was taken.
