Liki Island. Landing supplies on Liki Island for the natives. After the invasion of Wakde, the Netherlands Indies Civil Administration (NICA) evacuated 760 natives from the mainland to Liki Island. Now that there is little Jap activity, the natives are being brought back and will go to their former villages. NI 5341

NICA

NICA (Netherlands Indies Civil Administration of Nederlandsch-Indische Civiele Administratie) werd opgericht in april 1944 voor het herstel van het Nederlandse burgerlijke koloniale bestuur na de capitulatie van de Japanse bezetter, en belast met de verzorging van de bevolking, geïnterneerden en krijgsgevangenen en de verschaffing van voedsel, kleding etcetera.
