Official opening of new school at Kota Nica (Kotanica), Hollandia. The official opening of the new school established by NICA at Kota Nica, Hollandia, took place on February 26th, 1945, when a party NICA officials visited the village for this ceremony, and to take part in the official opening of the new barracks. The opening ceremony was performed by Colonel Abdulkadir Widjojoatmodjo, Senior officer NICA, who handed the school over to Lieutenant Manoepoeti, Director of the school. When the school opened there were 360 students and ten teachers at the school. These numbers will be greatly augmented in the future.
