Describes the internment camp in Les Milles in the south of France, based on testimonies of survivors (or their families) and archival material. Set up in September 1939, it served at first as a military camp. After 1940 it was a camp for foreigners who sought asylum in France, including Jews. Between 3 August-10 September 1942 it served as a transit camp for Jews sent to Auschwitz via Drancy. Includes a list of important persons who were interned in the camp.
